YLS poem
"You told me Your little Secret" and you say you "CHANGE"
"You screamed “IWTCO” because you have “NWTG”
"I really like you “and “I could have been you
"So “this war is over “ let’s go to “Shiners Park” give me a “Unusual Kiss” and let’s go “All the way to heaven“
At 15.00 a lot of people were already at the Ahoy and I talked to the card man from the Secret Concert in A’ dam.
After standing there for a while in the cold I remember that I had left the concert ticks in the car.
So I walked back around the venue and what did I see. Mel’s touring bus! Was it meant to be maybe…
So I took out my camera of my secret yeans ;o) and all the fans where standing at the other side behind the gate’s. I was walking slowly up to the bus no gates. So Melissa looked my way and I thought this is my change so I took my camera and click.
You know what... I didn’t forward the photo roll ooh noo and of she goes.
This moment is so painful and it will never ever happen again man stuck in my mind. That moment gone!
I very quickly tried to make another picture but all that was on the picture was the roof of the hall.
I went back to the row and telling my “best worst moment” ever.
Around 18.30 gate’s where opened we had to go past security and with my camera save at a painfully place I run, run like hell. I went of to the left go right and than one big floor. Once a place at the front on my bud and needed some air.
We took our place and it was time to warm ourselves up from the cold outside.
It was time for some talking with other fans and in front of me I saw the nice bootleg guy from the YLS secret concert A’ dam. So I had only him before me and than the stage!
First Joan Osbourne and when I looked to the side of the stage I saw..Melissa.
She was filming the audience and at the moment more people saw her so she walked away and John Shanks took her place.
Later I heard from two friends, Jolies & Paulien who always sit down at the first ring of the Ahoy that Melissa was still standing there at the side of the stage.
But Melissa was now away from the view from the front audience so that the audience would look to Joan instead of looking for Melissa.
After Joan Osbourne the crowd started the wave and we where so ready for tonight’s show!
Lights went off... The band came on stage and Mel’s guitar was starting the begin tunes of Unusual Kiss ……and there she was!
The 2 and half hour show kicked of and song number 3 was IWTC.
The famous ahoy lighters already where flashing around the hall (normally we do that at the end of show with the song LTWID).
So Melissa said;” Wait hold on hold on”, and she run backstage for her video cam.
She explained us that the people in America didn’t believe about the Dutch lighters so she should tape it now. This as proof to show her friends in America that it is amazing to see!
Well you can imagine that the crowd went crazy and she told us that she wish she good take us with her in her bag pack. Later she gave her camera to a guy in the front (Tim Dunker) and he filmed the crowd.
Melissa had the power over us we where in control and what a party …we where wild!
She played “Silent legacy and rolled around the stage on her back right in front of us!
Many songs came by and a great like the way I do. And closing the show with an amazing “This war is over “.
She promised she wouldn’t stay away to long and one by one the band members left the stage!
A friend of me almost passed out at the end of the show but she survived. I know that a lot of water is very important on nights like these.
After the show we went of to the artist entry. Jolies & Paulien told us that Melissa was already gone but the bus was still there, so we waited.
The bodyguards came out and put some gate’s in front of us so that means Melissa was almost there? Half an hour later the band and Melissa run out into the bus. Melissa said; “It’s freezing...” and of she go.
My friend Anne said; “Angela you are at the wrong site of the bus quick come here.
So I walked quickly to other side of the bus. So I stood there3 looked up to the window and looked right in the face of Melissa!
I said I had a clog (WoodenShoe) as a souvenir but she signed to me: “Sorry have to go”… and she switched of the lamp above her.
A wonderful evening went by but only 4 days and than Cologne!
