24|07|2004 Zurich Switserland.

Around 16:30 we arrived at the venue in Zurich Switzerland.
It was an old castle from the year 1920 which is now a region/district museum.
The river around the building and in the city was deep bleu and I never saw such a great colored river I must say.
In my hometown the rivers are brown and dirty!
Here in Zurich it looked like Spa water to me whawhawha !

First we take a look around to see how the building was and where the artist entrée was.
When we arrived at the tour bus of Melissa and crew she just arrived 10 minutes earlier!


No problem I must say we where very Lucky this tour to meet speak great Melissa everyday so this was no pain in the ass lol.
We walked around the venue and talk to some of the crew security and myself to the pa assistant of Melissa, a guy from England who was so kind to give me his lighter named “tits” lol.
Tammy and Melissa walked by hand in hand coming of stage.
It was so sweet to see these girls, Melissa and Tammy both wearing them on the road sport outfit.
Tammy was wearing baseball caps our bandana on her head, almost the whole tour.
She has a good and sexy taste of clothes I must say!

There was a moment when Mark Brown came my way asking where he good fined a public pay phone because he wanted to make a call to one of his family members.
The nearest one I good think about was my cell phone so I offer him that he good use mine, and that after the call he good see that I would delete the number.

He was thinking about it and said ,`well then you are not available and you can’t use it for half an hour`.
That’s no problem here if u want to... then Medea walked by and heard the conversation with Mark.

She said there where telephone boxes on the railway station!
So he said thanks to me for the offer and walked back to get some Swiss money and he walked a few minutes later to the city with Lilly.

After an hour he came back and he was all alone.
So I asked him if he had lost Lilly to a nice Swiss guy with leather (hosen) pants lol.
He laughed and said “poor me”.

We walked to the side of the venue where the catering and dressing rooms where and Kenny was walking around!
”Hey girls”, and he walked our direction.
“Hey handsome how are you give me a hug, and he throw himself over the hedge, which was all wet from the rain.
I also reached out to him (the hedge was almost 1 and a half meter wide)
“Give me a hug”, he said to me.
“A hug? I want a kiss handsome”, I replied, so we kissed each other over the hedge!

Taking my step back again, I was all wet on mine yeans, so I smiled and said: “Ooh my god look Kenny you made me wet in my yeans”.

He told me that he was amazed and glad with me as a person.
He was very surprised and amazed about my mouth reaction on the song “lover please”.
The one with the tube in Melissa mouth in Munich!
He told me he was teasing me back with checking his zip and tank top, yes I did !

Crazy couple Kenny and me!!

I told Kenny that I made some great pictures of him which he good have from me, and put on his homepage.
I gave him my email address and just like Philip he replied with the words; “email me you must …I will give you credits”.

Kenny told us about his not so pleasant night rest, and that was because of the heat last night in Munich.
You see the stage in Munich was low but also the sealing was not that high so all the lights hang very low.
The place where Kenny sits was almost over 15 degrees higher than the point where Melissa Philip and Mark stood.
Because of the light and the inside temperature it was way to warm for him.
He was glad that Melissa gave him some time’s the wet cold towel.

We talked about the fun at the shows between him and me and we came at the subject love.

First I must say that I was very sure about my thoughts that Kenny was good being gay!
Well am I wrong…Kenny said he was a lesbian to and that he and I should bang heads together, because we are together on the same thing ….woman lol.

Than I told him that I was so surprised because my instinct lol thought and told me gay guy gay guy NOT duuhhhh.
”I really thought you preferred man that you where…. gay..!”
“No no I am a lesbian just like you”, and we had our laughs.
Then he said he had to go doing some sound checking so he shake hands and we thanked him already in person for the fun and great shows he gave.

So we stood there for a while backstage and we where listening to the sound check which was very cool!

Around 18:00 we walked back because around that time the doors would open.
I did my MLE shopping and we drink a beer and salute on our last evening!
Philip was sitting at the right side of the stage, and was playing his acoustic guitar, jamming together with chainsaw and Terry his soundman.

I walked to him and asked Philip if he could look on the play list if `my request` was on it.

Terry said that she probably would play it because she said and promised it last night to me in Munich.
Philip asked me about my pictures and said I really have to email him... Yes you see I promised you, so I will.

Oke …we went to our seats and we where in row 7, and around 20:20 the show started and Melissa played like the first 45 minutes very calm relaxed.
There was no real rocking reaction from the audience, and we where amazed about most of the people still sitting down.
Really ...from the beginning of the show opening with Lucky and I want to come over, the crowed just didn’t came up!

I had flashbacks in my head from 2 years ago Antwerp and was very sure that I wouldn’t sit down with the rocking dance songs.
Come on you can’t sit still and really not moving on Lucky!!

At the right side of the crowd where a lot of people doing the same thing as us, and I was really disappointed.
But no one could make me sit down and the security allowed it to stand up so...


Then some sort of old Swiss Heidi came my way and asked me if I was thinking about standing the rest of the show.
I looked nice up to her and told her that for one; it was my last show, and two; that I hade paid 75 euros and three; that I came all the way from the Netherlands to see this show.

She said `well there are people behind you who can’t see because you girls are standing up`.
So I excused myself for that and told her that they good stand also, and that I now wanted to enjoy the show.

Also when Melissa walked our way she pulled her shoulders up like; `Ok this is not going to work but you girls are dancing and I like it!

Melissa really tried to let the crowd stand up but it was only the right side, and at our side around 9 people.

At the 3rd song I held up my sign with “no where to go” and she gave me a thumb and a smile.
So that song had just entered the play list.

She played let me go, the weakness in me, Breakdown, Don’t you need and an amazing The Different with a cool sound letting her voice surrounding the castle!

Then she started the song Heal me and I quickly dialed my sweettie.
I held up my cell phone and security looked up to me, telling me I had to put it down!
I was making hand moves that I was dialing, not making pictures, but it was not allowed.
So I had to hang up damned.

But you see I was smart enough to put my telephone in my pocket, where security good not see it, and so I good dial her again on No where to go!

Then the solo part of NWTG came and Melissa explained about her time in Leavenworth and then she started my request.
This songs always make´s me emotional because of the lyrics and the movie i get in my head about the lyrics.
I don’t now exactly what it is but it’s a great emotional painfully song.

So…. I stood there doing fine, breathing in and out, and Medea looked some times to me to see if I was fine.
I was in trance enjoying this song and I felt the emotions in my throat.

Then the song goes into the painfully mode and she sings;
“ Danceeeeee with meeeee forever..this moment is devine..im ssoooooooclose to heaven! This HELL is not MINE..this helllllll is not mine”, and crash bang splash there I go.
I broke at the spot! The tears came out and she got me again!

In the mean time my sweetheart was enjoying the song from the chair right beside me...
Medea came my way to give me a hug, she said she knew that I would break on this song.

After the song a big thank you to Melissa and I had to sit down, I was al gripped by the song and was shacking on my legs.
Melissa did go into “the weakness in me” so that was for me a great song to sit down, and to load myself up for the dance part BMSW.

Before the concert we asked security if we could run to the stage on the song, and they told us that they and Melissa’s management allowed it.
So we where ready to run!



Bring me some water started and we walked to the front as fast as we could, and I must say I never had such a relax moment.
I looked up to the stage looking like hmm no ...maybe a few steps further and walked a few steps further.

So I ended up in front of Kenny and there where only 3 people (my Dutch friends) who followed me.
So I walked further and than came in front of Melissa still no one around us.

This was amazing really,….very very cool.
The stage was high so I pulled my face up and was starring at Melissa yeans and nose lol.
Ok this is a good few but way too high, the stage I mean!

From this moment I shut myself from the world around me, and was closing down the tour in my mind.
I had my cards ready for the very last time, so did Medea and Anne, and Melissa was hanging on to Mark.
Than Mark told her to look to the front of the stage and she did, a big smile was passed on to us and she said:”Yes right...”

My cards did fly all the wrong way and were stuck to each other, but what the hell it was a party anyway, a farewell party!
And the cards did what they have to do because Queen of Hearts felt down right in front of us (not Melissa but the card)

Melissa and Philip made a great guitar shot because they played together on Philips guitar, and to see this like that close on the final show was great hot sexy and amazing!
Even Philip was impressed by Melissa and he made a sign with his arms like he adored her! Melissa laughed and shacked her head and said No no no lol.

Then they started like the way I do and I thanked her ) in my mind ' for this great first big European tour.

I air drummed with Kenny if I was his mate sitting next to him, even Melissa looked up to me laughing that I know the exact air drumming beats!
Well after 10 shows you know the beats and booms of Kenny lol.

At the end of the song Melissa came to the edge of the stage and gave Medea a big thank you.
She waved goodbye to the audience to leave the stage for her closing song Giant!

Kenny came up to the front walked beside me and gave me a hard ….auttcchh low five (instead of high5)

Giant rocked and I jumped higher than I had ever done on this tour, I waved harder then I good and more and more my eyes where focused on these last Melissa move’s.
Philiph was forced into Melissa’s boobs lol and it was all perfect, but the letting go was becoming closer and closer.

Melissa walked to the front of the stage to give the first row a handshake.
When she passed by she looked at me right in the eye, and I hold her hand for a few seconds, and said thanks so much see you next year in the USA!

Then Melissa walked further and song the last “I ..I ..I ..am a Giant”, and the people responded with the same words!
Then she came back to the middle and gave Medea a hand kiss and walked up to me again to say really goodbye for the last time.

She gave me a hand with her thumb up, and so I closed my hand the same way in hers!
I had her thumb ring in my hand (the ring still on her thumb, it’s hard to explain in words lol).
Than she looked me straight in the eyes and said;”Thank you so much...”

A hand kiss to Medea (...And sure some words but Medea knows them) and also a big handshake and then she waved again bye bye to the crowd.
She walked beside Mark around Kenny’s drum and left the stage.
Lady’s and gentle man Melissa Etheridge has left the stage.


Than the band jammed and played slower and slower and ended with a big bang!
Medea received the plectrum of Philip and Kenny came up to give us 4 a hand shake and drumstick (number 3 this tour) and they also left the stage.

The lights went on again and I looked up to enjoy the crew working hard and to get the stage down for the very last time.

Toast handed me the play list from the show, which Kenny had on his drum stage.
I thanked him for everything he had done for us and for making this tour such a lovely time of my life!
We thanked Jon, Chainsaw, Steven Girmant and the bus drivers and told them we would see them next year USA time!

Outside the venue the gate to the tour bus was closed, so we waited to wave bye bye for the last time.
We had done that almost every evening after the show and this was the last time for a long time.
After 30 minutes the bus came and the gate’s where opened.
Steven Girmant and Mark Brown where at my side of the bus.

Mark was sitting down but when he saw me he stood up from his chair and waved bye bye.
Later I heard that, at the other side of the bus, Melissa was talking with Philip.

We gave each other a great “Lucky Girls on the Road” group hug and we took the way back to the hotel.
